G.Skill Trident Z Neo – Review, Unboxing, Design

G.Skill Trident Z Neo –

We had been without movement of new RAM models for quite some time, but G.Skill wants to cheer this summer with its new G.Skill Trident Z Neo kit. It is a classic version of the Trident Z but with a double metallic cover with a powder coating style and a tremendous RGB system.

What news does this kit bring us? Will it be worth buying one? Don’t miss our analysis!

We appreciate the trust of G.Skill  for the assignment of the product for its analysis:

Unboxing and design

G.Skill always opts for a presentation with the best finishes and the best design. The outer packaging complete with cardboard and plastic. That ensures that the RAMs will reach us in perfect condition. Although the cover does not give us any technical information, we can see in a small window the chosen color of our RAMs and compatibility with AMD Ryzen. Hallelujah! A manufacturer that gets wet!

On the back, they explain that it is compatible with the new AMD Ryzen    3000 processors and its X570 chipset. In addition to the further improvements in the PCB have an unlimited guarantee and sticker of the frequency and latency that works the memories.

Standard Speeds

Their standard speeds for the Intel and AMD platform are 3,600 Mhz, and they have a reasonably high guaranteed latencyCL16: 16-19-19-39) and a voltage of 1.35v. Currently, we can acquire this model from 2666 MHz to 3800 MHz with a minimum latency CL14. We did not get the excellent kit.

Its dimensions are 38.24 mm x 132.9 mm wide and about seven mm thick. And we can buy kits with a size of 16 GB up to 64 GB maximum.

It must take into the version that these memories have a high profile. Although G.Skill confirms that it is compatible with the AMD Wraith heatsink that incorporates the AMD Ryzen 3900X and AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, it never hurts to measure and verify well consistent with our heatsink.

The heatsink constructs in a dual-tone design with brushed aluminum in black and silver. This chrome area has a powdery effect that gives it a very quality touch, and that I think there is a total success.

Aluminum structure

It has an aluminum structure that will help dissipate all the heat offered by the memories at these temperatures. It seems to us a very sporty mean but at the same time elegant and clean. Although some users would have chosen to have more color combinations, we are sorry to indicate only black/silver. The color will come to life with its RGB zone.

As expected, it is Intel XMP 2.0 certified and now AMD AMP. And also, makes them compatible at maximum frequencies on platforms both AMD and Intel platforms.

G.Skill has chosen to choose its chips by hand and test each module to complete resistance tests. They haven’t missed anything and have chosen a custom 10-layer PCB for themselves to achieve outstanding speeds and latencies. The RGB system offers a led strip that covers the entire upper memory area, and the effect it provides, which we already see in the previous images, is excellent. How well it matches our test bench!

We have used a top-of-the-range Asus Formula motherboard with a Z390chipset and an i9-9900K processor, which has been a classic for some time on our benchmark. All the results have passed with the profile of 3,600 MHz and the applied voltage of 1.35V in a Dual Channel. Let’s see them!

Final words and conclusion about G.Skill Trident Z Neo

G.Skill launches a new top-of-the-range memory kit on the market. Our success in terms of design, performance, and component quality of the Trident Z Neo seems to be our success. Without disbelief, one of the best options we can buy for our Intel or AMD platform.

Our tests have checked its operation in stock, 3200 MHz and 3600 MHz, obtaining a great result in all of them. And also, having fast memories and low latencies can help us gain some FPS while we play.
