Moto G6 vs Moto G7 – Similar Design with Differences

Motorola Moto G7 vs Motorola Moto G6, what has changed?

Moto G6 vs Moto G7 –

The new Motorola Moto G7 has already present, and that is why we cannot avoid looking back to see what has changed compared to their predecessors. Comparing the Motorola Moto G7 vs. Motorola Moto G6 and its Plus models can resolve doubts about whether it is advisable to change from one model to another. We will also discuss the evolution of their prices and assess the brand’s growth in these devices.

In this comparison, we will only treat the standard model and the plus model of each version, so you will not see a comparison of the characteristics of the Play and Power models. Be that as it could, we hope that this comparison of features will be helpful to you and will solve a few doubts about it.

Design: Similar, But With Differences

Last year we saw how Motorola carried the design of frames adjusted to its terminals. Despite this, we continued to see a fingerprint reader on the front. We saw this feature in both the Motorola Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Plus. At the back, the Motorola Moto G6 had glass as the primary construction material, which raised the quality of the terminal over other terminals in the same price range. At the rear, we found two cameras inside a circle, although the two camera modules separate from each other.

In the Motorola Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus, we see how some of the design lines of its predecessor have been maintained, such as the shape of the back, also built-in glass. The rear cameras are also in the centre of a circle, although a black stripe joins both cameras. The screen is one of the points that has changed the most compared to its previous version, as it has smaller frames and a notch at the top of the screen. Due to the reduction of structures, the fingerprint reader locates at the back, just below the brand logo.

Display: Different Sizes, Exact Resolution

As we just mentioned, the screen size has changed from the previous Motorola Moto G6 to the new Motorola Moto G7. The Motorola Moto G6 had a 5.7-inch screen in the last generation, while the Motorola Moto G6 Plus had a 5.9-inch diagonal. Both models had an IPS panel with Full HD + resolution. In this change of age, Motorola has maintained screen technology and solution. They are still IPS and FullHD +, but both models have seen their screen increased to 6.24 inches in this case.

Processor: The Evolution in The Plus Model is not so Much

Moto G6 vs. Moto G7 –

Last year we were the first to criticize Motorola’s decision to include a processor from the Snapdragon 4XX range in its Moto G6. Specifically, it was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 with eight cores, a processor more intended for the entry range than the mid-range. On the other hand, the Motorola Moto G6 Plus had the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, a more powerful version but quickly overshadowed by other processors such as the Snapdragon 636 660.

In the new Motorola Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus, the improvement is quite significant. The Moto G7 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor, intended for the mid-range entry, while the Moto G7 Plus bets on the Snapdragon 636, a processor that we have already seen in many other mid-range terminals. In both cases, the improvement is quite significant, although not enough to justify the price of the airports, since some of the competition has even better processors at lower prices.
